how to clean your bike on a sunday

Bike riding is a favorite passion of mine.I love bikes.I love cleaning my own bike.Often people have a misconception that cleaning your bike is a hefty process and bike service mechanics only can do.I just want to disprove such a heretical view.I am using all my knowledge how to clean your bike at your home with things which you normally get in our homes.
Choose one day preferably sunday as you can do this sacred ritual at least without any disturbances.

Time required=one hour

Things required:

  • A long brush preferably narrow and slim.
  • Gloves
  • A bucket full of warm water
  • Rags
  • Cotton sponges
  • Tooth brush
  • Tar remover.
  • Grease remover.
  • A cloth to dry.
Steps to follow:
  1. Park your bike in a comfortable position in a comfortable place, preferably under a shade,as the sunlight is not good for the bike paints as well as for you.
  2. Take some warm water in the bucket as it helps as a lubricant. Some use detergents and soap water.
  3. Start with the rust on the  motor bikes.they makes the bikes look very old. This usually sits in the head of your bike.Other familiar places are the handle bars.start scrubbing the bugs using the tar remover.Nowadays you can find many good products which helps you in removing the tars.
  4. Don't scrub too much as the paint should not come out.
  5. Two things to keep in mind while cleaning your bike.First clean the soft parts which has paints with a soft cotton sponge.Second go to the hard parts which has to be washed in a rough way.
  6. While coming to the hard parts like swinging arms and the exhaust pipes you can show your roughness in that.
  7. Use the grease remover and scrub well with a brush.Use a small tooth brush to clean the difficult places and make it more clean and shiny.
  8. Any grease marks left out will disappear.
  9. Use the soap water on the wheels and start scrubbing with a brush.Remove all the dirt from it.I avoid wheel cleaners solutions.I prefer soap water and it worked out very well for me.
  10. Now come to the body parts.Start wetting the painted portion before you scrub as the water helps as a lubricant and you can avoid a scratch.Use soft cotton products to clean and absorb the soap water.
Last but not the least.Dry it under a cool shade. You can be proud of your time spent as your bike looks new and shiny.Don't feel bad in taking for a test drive as it helps the bike to get dry soon when the cool wind gushes on it.You will feel rewarded for your time on a precious sunday
